Bridging HERitage
Bridging HERitage – Women’s Contribution to European Cultural Development is a two-year initiative led by the Municipality of Heerlen, the Netherlands, in collaboration with eight partners from across Europe.

The project
The project aims to recognize and celebrate women’s often overlooked contributions to European cultural development across diverse domains, including art, literature, science, politics, and social activism. Through cross-border collaboration, Bridging HERitage promotes gender equality in cultural representation by highlighting the diverse roles and achievements of women throughout European history.
Focus on empowering
With a strong focus on empowering local communities, the project actively engages women of all ages, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. By fostering collaboration and cultural exchange among partners, Bridging HERitage contributes to a shared European narrative that emphasizes inclusion, diversity, and the interconnectedness of women’s experiences across Europe.
